I’m a big advocate that the world needs more happiness + gratitude and I want you to join me in that endeavor!
When I decided to re-launch, I knew I was going to keep my gratitude journal series going that I had been writing since January 2013. Everyday, I would write down one thing that had worked out well for me or something I was happy to see from “I’m thankful my husband didn’t have to travel on my birthday” to less serious things like “I’m thankful for my silly bird for being sweet.”
I had no idea that that year would open up Pandora’s box and what a crazy ride the next two years would be. I dealt with chronic pain, dealing with therapy for my PTSD, the passing of a sister, and being in four different car accidents not of my causing (hint: I was injured in all of them). Having to consciously think of something that I was grateful for everyday was really eye opening for me; even on my worst days, there were things still going well for me! More than that, I found it empowering to be able to challenge my bad days and anxiety with some happiness. I found that even when I was having a great day, I liked having the reminder that things well going well in my life anyway.
This blog is dedicated to story telling, but also keeping the good things good in life. For me, this means when I write about my life I do it in a constructive way that recognizes the happy things that are going well. Sometimes it comes effortlessly and sometimes it doesn’t, but I’ve found a lot of value in it and it is something I want more and more to carry over from my blog into real life.
Beginning on September 30th, the last day of this month, I am hosting a linkup on my blog HERE.
