I remember a few years in college where I longed to live or be near family for the holidays. It is an amazing experience to be young enough to still remember that feeling so I appreciate the this we have now even with family still far away. This year we’re in Arkansas and enjoying a tradition that started up last year: Devin’s mom and step-dad made a pact to combine Thanksgivings with my parents and it means we see more people in one place!
I feel gracious for the family we have and the blessings that surround us; sometimes the good in life is glaringly obvious and other times it takes more edification and effort on our part to see it. I’ve learned that there are always people who have less than I do and people who always have more, but happiness comes from seeing the progress I have seen in family and in myself.
As an adult, I’ve found it is often easier to let myself be bogged down than grateful and I am appreciative for this especial holiday to help remind me of it all! I’m grateful for this space where I can share a little bit about my life and for being able to share the little things that keep life good– thanks for joining in on the ride! ♥
