We’ve lived in our home for four years this summer and I’ve been going through each room and evaluating what I love, what I like, and what I could do without (the same process was with my closet last month). The great news is Devin and I have figured out what we like in a home: classic, pops of color, and I like some vintage charm (our budget does too!). There was only one room that completely didn’t fit the bill: our master bedroom.
I’m excited to get everything below in the mail and put it all together! If I haven’t ordered an item yet, I put a * by the end of the product so I can next month when our budget starts over.
- Curtains here for $30.82 a pair
Originally, I was going to make curtains because there are a few whole sale fabric places around here. However, I couldn’t actually beat this price. I love birds and I thought these were a fun pop of color!
- Pillow cover here for $2.99 + $1 shipping *
I love florals and Devin could agree with this because it didn’t make our whole room feminine haha.
- 8 x 10 feather gold foil printables here for $12.00
Prints are surprisingly expensive so I went to Etsy for printables since we have a decent printer. Our current room was lacking contrast so I found these black 11x 14 frames with matting for a 8 by 10 photo for less than $10 a piece here.
- Duvet here for $36.89
I wanted a dark color so it wouldn’t show up when my makeup doesn’t come all the way off when I wash it (am I the only one that struggles with this?). For me, the color of navy was important. In this photo, you can tell the light still bounces off of this navy; there is no black or gray tone to it and I knew it would still be vibrant.
- Brick wallpaper here for $24 per double roll *
I’m finding there are a lot of awesome wallpapers that can be used as an accent wall without completely papering your whole room. I love the way this looks because it is still light and would provide some texture.
- Quilt here for $38.99 *
I love throw quilts and usually like to have one at the foot of our bed. I thought this would be awesome for breaking up the navy of the bedspread. I like that the quilt pulls in the colors from the curtains + the ruffles from the bedspread.
- Turquoise wood pillow here for $4.69 *
I have a thing for pillows. It kind of drives Devin nuts, but he goes with it. I am going to have to buy pillow inserts for these, but the price was definitely right!
In my head, I can already picture that the white curtains with the pop of pretty bird feathers is going to make the room brighter. I also think the contrast from the matted picture frames will really help too. I’m really excited to see how everything looks together. In the mean time, I’ll be happily finishing up purging and cleaning. I’m excited to show the before and after’s of this room 🙂 .
